The Infrared Rays cause the molecules inside the mitochondria of the cell to resonate and be activated, warming you from within. Raising the temperature of the body by just one degree will boost your immune system by 40% Unlike a heating pad, the Amethyst Biomat does not get hot when you turn it on. However, if you lie down on the Amethyst Biomat, it warms the inside of your body and the part of the pad touching your skin gets warm. When any part of the pad gets higher than the selected temperature, the sheet current is cut off by thermal sensors distributed throughout the Biomat.
